Plasma Technology Development (PTD) B.V. is a new R&D Dutch company, based in Alphen aan den Rijn, born from the afford on many people willing to support a research program of Delft University of Technology. Our mission is to research and to develop plasma technologies for implementing existing technologies in order to make them more safe, efficient and environmental friendly.
Aerodynamics is our field of competence and the device under study is a new cutting edge technology plasma based: the nanosecond dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuator (NS-DBD PA).

Nowadays such Technology is worldwide studied and many results have been published about this subject, showing to be very promising. Appealing aspects of such device are the low energy consumption, the simple layout and implementation on existing technologies and the robustness that it appears to have.

PTD B.V., employing two PhDs students of TU Delft, is carrying out this basic research numerically as well as experimentally trying to find out the basic mechanism of actuation that the NS-DBD is able to achieve controlling an external flow. Of course such thing would not be possible without the experience and the professionalism of the TU Delft professors and technicians.

Delivering a new technology to the industries is an hard task and we stress our skills, giving our best, in order to accomplish our mission, trying to improve this world for a more sustainable future.
